Dear BNID,
Being the Director of the Boston Network for International Development (BNID) has been more than just a job to me over the last seven years. It has been one the greatest privileges in my life.
When I started BNID in my dorm room in 2010, I never thought in my wildest dreams it would become a non-profit organization with over 5,000 members. BNID has allowed me to grow both professionally and personally, and I am grateful to the BNID Board of Directors for being so supportive of my vision.
I will be stepping down from my role as Director at the end of March as I am graduating from law school and need to focus my attention on my last set of final exams, and the bar exam. However, I have accepted a gracious invitation from the BNID Board of Directors to join the Board beginning this fall.
Jon Shaffer, a longtime BNID Board member, and all-around amazing person will be taking over as Director. Jon brings an incredible skill set that he developed as the previous Executive Director of GlobeMed, and his leadership role at Partners in Health (PIH). I cannot wait to see Jon implement his ideas for BNID.
I would like to thank Vlad Grenkov, BNID’s Director of Technology and Amber Oberc, the Chair of the BNID Advisory Board. Vlad has been our Director of Technology for four years, and has done an incredible job of designing our beautiful website. Amber has been a fearless leader for the last two years, and her determination has been a driving factor for our growth.
I would also like to extend heartfelt gratitude to our donors and sponsors who allow us to complete our work. Specifically, the Ansara Family Fund, the Boston Foundation, the Pardee School at Boston University, the Heller School at Brandeis University, the School of International Service at American University, the Millennium Campus Network, World Boston, and McDermott, Will & Emery, LLP. They have all been instrumental in assisting us with our work.
I recognize that these are challenging times for the entire international development community, but I know that together we can accomplish anything.
Sincerely,
Adam Korn
