Thank you so much for your steadfast support throughout 2016. It has been an incredible year for BNID. With your imagination, commitment, and enthusiasm, together we’ve reached new milestones.
In 2016, we grew our community to over 5,100 members (up from 3,700 in 2015), hosted five events with over 500 participants, posted 15 original blog posts, and redesigned our organizational directory. Without your commitment to social change, both local and global, none of this would have been possible. As a community of people whose day-to-day work is often out of sight, we have so much to gain by learning from and with each other.
With all that’s been accomplished, there’s so much more to be done. We are committed to expanding all that we’ve built together and hope you’ll join us in the coming year as we strive to host more, and meaningful events. Also, we plan to establish BNID “office hours” where you can come meet with BNID staff or board members. Finally, it is our goal to find ways to improve our collaboration with the 250 organizations listed in our directory, and the dozen local academic institutions that are involved in the international development field.
Instead of asking for a donation this year, we ask that you tell one friend, colleague, classmate, or peer about BNID. By introducing one person you know to BNID, you can make a difference by helping us achieve our mission of serving as a point of connection for groups and individuals in the Boston area who are concerned with issues of international development and global justice. All of the listings you see in our newsletters each week are there thanks to you, our members and therefore the more members we have the greater the impact we can have.
On behalf of the entire BNID family, we look forward to collaborating with you, your friends, classmates, and coworkers in 2017.
Onward,
Adam Korn
